TAKE ACTION TO SUPPORT SAFE AND LEGAL ACCESS IN SAN FRANCISCO

DEMAND THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO RESTORE THE MCD-PROGRAM ASAP!

Last fall, several city departments postponed further consideration of the SF Medical Cannabis Dispensary Program to provide the City Attorney’s Office time to determine the potential impact of the Pack v. Long Beach and to get a sense about whether the Supreme Court would review or de-publish the Pack decision.
Last week, the Supreme Court announced their decision to review Pack effectively making the Pack decision null until a decision is announced years from now.  As a result, the SF City Attorney’s office announced that city departments could resume the MCD-Program.
However, a recent article in the SF Weekly noted that despite the advice/opinions of the City Attorney’s Office, SF-DPH has elected to suspend the program indefinitely!  As a result nearly a dozen pending applications were put on hold!

To make matters worse, the Federal government exploited the delay period and recently forced the closure or restructuring of several of San Francisco’s most treasured MCDs!  The combination of recent closures and the decision to suspend the MCD-Program indefinitely may have very serious consequences for San Francisco’s medical cannabis patients and providers.

TAKE ACTION NOW – CALL THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF SUPERVISORS!!

DEMAND SF OFFICIALS RESTORE THE MCD PROGRAM IMMEDIATELY!

Sample Call Script:
“Hello, my name is (your name). I am a resident of San Francisco and medical marijuana supporter/patient.  I am calling to demand that (name of elected official) take swift action to immediately restore the city’s medical cannabis dispensary permitting program in compliance with the recommendations of our City Attorney’s office. Since the Pack decision is under review by the State Supreme Court, it is no longer good law. I am asking that the medical cannabis program be reinstated immediately!  Thank you for your attention to this very important item.”
