No Longer Sad
This fine cola of Panama Red was grown organically in a greenhouse in Washington state.
Don't be afraid to ask for organic marijuana -- you have plenty of company. According to a new research study, twice as many medicinal cannabis patients said organic marijuana -- not discount pricing -- is their most critical consideration when selecting a dispensary.

Rhode Island Gov., Legislature Agree Marijuana Dispensaries

Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee and the Legislature on Thursday agreed to allow medical marijuana dispensaries to open in the state after negotiating a compromise. Chafee had blocked the dispensaries from opening, fearing they would violate federal law and result in DEA raids in the state.

Three dispensaries already picked by the state to distribute medicinal cannabis could open soon after the General Assembly endorses the compromise, reports the Associated Press.

Worth Repeating: Marijuana and the Psychology of Optimal Experience

By Ron Marczyk, R.N.
Health Education Teacher (Retired)

The reductionist, "group think," cold, dogmatic drug warriors of the National Institute of Drug Abuse, the DEA, and the FDA have been digesting their own misinformation for so long they have lost their humanity.

As counterintuitive as it sounds, the" high" or "feel good" buzz from marijuana is an actual "therapeutic effect" that heals the brain, produces homeostasis and prevents many neurodegenerative conditions.

Brain homeostasis is restored by the direct action of THC/CBD-activating CB1 receptors in the amygdala which regulate our "happiness / emotional salience module." This pathway is dedicated to seeking for "meaningfulness" in our existence.

Colorado Bill To Legalize and Regulate Marijuana Qualifies For Ballot

Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler approved a state ballot initiative Monday to legalize and regulate the use of marijuana in a manner similar to alcohol. Voters will decide Nov. 6 whether the measure becomes law.
“This could be a watershed year in the decades-long struggle to end marijuana prohibition in this country,” said Art Way, Colorado manager of the Drug Policy Alliance in a statement Monday. “Marijuana prohibition is counterproductive to the health and public safety of our communities. It fuels a massive, increasingly brutal underground economy, wastes billions of dollars in scarce law enforcement resources, and makes criminals out of millions of otherwise law-abiding citizens.”

Vallejo Police Snitched To Feds About Greenwell Cooperative

Wow! The Vallejo police department, DEA, State Equalization Tax Board and other agencies really fucked up when they raided Greenwell Cooperative in Vallejo last Tuesday.

They also arrested Greenwell's founder and owner Matt Shotwell. Twice. Ya the VPD had to rearrest Shotwell because their fucking idiots and had a clerical error the first time. Yeah I said it.

My Thoughts On Medical Marijuana

I've spent many countless hours the past year or so combing medical and scientific data on anything and everything marijuana. Both pro and con.

The knowledge I've acquired about the benefits of cannabis has totally blown my mind. This plant is the safest option in our Pharmocopia, in respect to adverse side effects, or any side effects of serious concern if vaporized rather than smoked.

Marijuana may block Alzheimer's

The active ingredient in marijuana may stall decline from Alzheimer's disease, research suggests.

Scientists showed a synthetic version of the compound may reduce inflammation associated with Alzheimer's and thus help to prevent mental decline.
They hope the cannabinoid may be used to developed new drug therapies.
The research, by Madrid's Complutense University and the Cajal Institute, is published in the Journal of Neuroscience.

We would warn the public against taking marijuana as a way of preventing Alzheimer's
Dr Susanne Sorensen
The scientists first compared the brain tissue of patients who died from Alzheimer's disease with that of healthy people who had died at a similar age.

A cancer cure in waiting

A cancer cure in waiting

When people ask why I’m certain the federal laws preventing medical use of cannabis must change, my answer is simple: cancer. Curing it is the holy grail of modern medicine, and cannabinoids hold the most promise.

Legal Recreational Marijuana: Not So Far Out

The drive to legalize marijuana has long been a fringe cause, associated with hard-core libertarians and college-age stoners. But it could go mainstream in a big way in this November’s election, when Washington could become the first state to legalize recreational pot use. If it does — or if voters in any of several other states do — this year could be a turning point in the nation’s treatment of marijuana.

Subcools Super Soil Recipe

To me there is nothing like the flavor of properly grown organic cannabis. The subtle flavors and aromas created when using mother earth is over whelming to the senses when done properly.
As with many vegetables a rich Organic soil can bring out the best in a plant. Over the past 20 years I have tried almost every possible way to cultivate our favorite plant and while hydro is certainly faster and the yields blow soil away, I have developed a soil that performs extremely well and there’s very little guess work. I don’t worry about ph or ppm I simply have spent a few years developing a sound recipe and in combination with 7 gallon nursery pots I can run from start to finish using only water. Other than a bit of sweat equity every 90 days or so it takes a huge amount of science out of the garden and puts nature back in charge. This recipe is slightly different from my last and from the one so many use as gospel that I have passed around for years from grower to grower.

Cops Can't Handle The Smell of Marijuana, Call For Action Before Someone Gets Hurt

Cops in one Florida city claim there are health risks from the odor of marijuana they have stored in their evidence room. Notice I said "odor" of marijuana.

"The biggest complaint is how strong the odor is," said Atlantic Beach Police Commander Victor Gualillo, reports ActionNewsJax.com.

All seized dope collected during busts is stored in a 200-square-foot evidence room at the station.

"Anytime you store that much marijuana it's rather pungent," Commander Gualillo complained.
